I became a wedding photographer after working in public relations for the archery industry, where I fell into a photography gig shooting photos of national and international archery competitions. Like capturing wedding photos, you don't get a do-over during the gold medal match at a World Cup. You have to get it right the first time, and you achieve that by preparing, practicing your craft, and being obsessively detail-oriented. That's me.
When I married my husband, we had a limited budget and needed to set priorities. Ours were great food - and exceptional photos. I'm motivated every day by a beautiful black-and-white photograph of my grandparents and great grandfather in front of my grandparents' wedding cake. They're in their 20s, healthy and stunning. Full of love. Today, 70 years later, that memory lives on, every single day. That's what we mean by "investment."
Weddings are a huge part of what I do, but I'm also a passionate portrait photographer. I've been blessed to photograph my clients' biggest moments, from their engagement and wedding day, to their maternity photos, newborn sessions, cake smash photos, holiday sessions and family portraits. I'm even known to shoot head shots, pet portraits and commercial work. Tell me to shoot photos, and I'm there with bells on ;)
Fun fact: I only drink decaf, but I'm still absolutely hooked. Black and sweet, please!
Seriously, I love all things brightly colored, but I see beets and want to run the other way.
I love the outdoors! We hike, travel and explore national parks whenever possible.
I get it, everyone loves it...except me. I'm crazy about seafood, just thoroughly cooked.
We love rescuing animals. And now, we have a small herd of super-mischievous kitties.
Totally jealous of people who swim like they were born in the ocean! (I don't).
Text messages, shopping, adventures, laughter. Need I say more?
True story: I once plowed into a telephone pole head-first. Cycling = not my strong suit.
